Privacy Policy

Your account (email or phone number, name, username), your messages and files, and the contact memory your workspace creates: contacts, facts, commitments, documents and consent records.

Each workspace's data is kept separate from every other workspace.

Your phone number is used to sign you in and so people who already have your number can find you. No one can browse or list phone numbers; a search only matches a number someone already typed in full.

We don't use tracking or advertising cookies and we don't sell personal data. Your browser stores your sign-in session and a few preferences (like your language) on your device.

Bots in a chat can read that chat. Bots only see contact memory for contacts linked to a chat they are in.

Secure Store secrets are encrypted with a separate key for each workspace and never written to logs. Bots get references, never the secret itself. Showing a secret to a person requires an explicit confirmation, and every view is logged (without the value).

Hosting and database: our cloud provider stores all data.

Search indexing: message and document text may be sent to an AI model provider to make it searchable.

Fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address.

Link previews: when a chat shows a preview, its picture loads straight from the linked website.

Notifications: alerts go through your browser's push service and contain no message text.

Text messages: our text message provider (Twilio) carries SMS texts, so it sees the phone numbers and the text of those messages.

Messages, files and contact memory: until you or your workspace deletes them.

Bot event stream: 24 hours. Performance metrics: 14 days. Finished background jobs: 7 days.

Audit log and consent ledger: kept permanently, because they prove what happened and who agreed.

You can delete messages, contacts and documents in the app. To export or delete all your data, email support@muetext.com.
