Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms cover your use of Muetext while it is in early access. By using Muetext you agree to them and to the Acceptable Use Policy.

What Muetext is

Muetext is a messaging app. People chat in real time. Bots (AI agents) can join chats, but only under the control of the person or business that runs them.

A workspace is a shared space for a person, team or business. Chats, bots and contacts belong to a workspace.

Your responsibilities

Only connect bots you are allowed to run. You are responsible for what your bots send.

Only contact people who agreed to hear from you. Muetext keeps a consent ledger — a permanent, add-only record of who agreed to what and when. Bots cannot write to it; only people can.

STOP always works

If someone replies STOP to a bot, that bot stops messaging them right away and any scheduled follow-ups are cancelled.

Texts (SMS) to people who aren't on Muetext also stop on STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT. We send one confirmation and nothing more. START turns texts back on.

Human approval

Some bot messages must be approved by a person before they go out. What is sent is exactly what was approved; it can't be changed afterwards.

Secrets

Passwords and keys saved in the Secure Store are encrypted. Bots only ever get a reference to a secret, never the secret itself.

Suspension and changes

We may limit or suspend a workspace that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Staff actions are recorded in an audit log.

During early access the service is provided as is. Features and limits may change.
