Read receipts, send later and voice notes

How "Seen" works and how to turn it off, scheduled messages, and voice notes with transcripts.

Read receipts

Under each message you see small avatars of the people whose latest read message it is, and "Seen" (or "Seen by N" in groups) under your newest message.

Settings → Privacy → Send read receipts. It is reciprocal and enforced by the database: with it off nobody sees when you read, and you don't see anyone else's receipts. Read positions are only served through a database function that applies this rule, never from the raw table.

Send later

In the composer, the clock button schedules the text you typed: in 1 hour, tomorrow at 9:00 your time, or any date and time within a year. "Scheduled (N)" in the chat header lists them to edit, reschedule or cancel. Only you can see your scheduled messages.

At its time the message is sent as you through the normal send path, usually within a minute: membership and posting rights are checked again, bots and connected channels get it, and SMS quiet hours, limits and STOP apply exactly as for a message you send by hand. If you can no longer post there, it is marked "Not sent" instead. Scheduled messages are text only.

Voice notes

Tap the microphone in the composer to record up to 2 minutes (Opus/WebM, or AAC/MP4 on Safari). The note is uploaded with the same checks as any file (size, type including its first bytes, SHA-256) and plays with a waveform and 1×, 1.5× or 2× speed.

A transcript appears under the note within seconds, written by Muetext AI (Gemini on the Lovable AI gateway) and charged to the workspace's AI budget. Hosted bots receive the transcript as text, never the audio. Without the server setting below, notes still send and play but show "Transcript unavailable".
